The East Indonesia Conference on Computers and Information Technology (EIConCIT), this year's scientific confirmation for research in the field of technology and Computer Science, was held virtually on April 9-10, 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This event is supported by IEEE, the Ministry of Education and Culture and in collaboration with Ahmad Dahlan University, Malaysia Sabah University, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), Malang State University, and several well-known universities. It is an honor for ISTTS to host this annual event. The event started with Dr. Joan Santoso, S.Kom., M.Kom. who gave a speech at the beginning of the event on behalf of the chairman of EIConCIT. This is the 3rd year that EIConCIT was held with several speakers from various fields, namely Assoc. Prof. Rayner Alfred, Emeritus Prof. Kondo Kunio, Prof. Leonel Hernandez, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Endang Setyati. Next Dr. Ing. Wahyudi Hasbi served as the IEEE Indonesia Section Chair. Remarks from ISTTS given by Ir. Edwin Pramana, M.AppSc., Ph.D, as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, represented the ISTTS Chancellor and opened the EIConCIT event. In this 3rd year, it has collected 251 papers from 12 countries by contributing members with the number of papers accepted is 85 with an acceptance rate of approximately 35%.
The moderator who accompanied the keynote on the first day was Dr. Esther Irawati Setiawan, M.Kom. The first session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Rayner Alfred, from Universiti Malaysia Sabah who discussed “Modeling and Forecasting Fresh Agro-food Commodities Consumption per Capita in Malaysia” or simply the method he uses to predict agricultural production in Malaysia. These agricultural products include 33 fresh products ranging from rice, livestock, fruit, vegetables, to fisheries. The Time Series method is a method of forecasting using a plot analysis of the relationship between the variables to be calculated and the time variable. He uses Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and Deep Neural Network (DNN) as prediction models to determine which commodities will experience an increase and decrease in demand in 2021-2030 in Malaysia. Where are the data sources used? He and his team collected annual per capita consumption data from traders to carry out this time series analysis.
While in the second keynote speaker session, Emeritus Prof. Kondo Kunio who is the chairman of ADADA (Asian Digital Art and Design Association) from Tokyo University of Technology. He is engaged in Graphic Modeling, Games, and Computer Interactive. In some time he has visited Indonesia several times and this time he had the opportunity to be a speaker at the EIConCIT Seminar to discuss "Digital Modeling using an Interactive Sketch Interpreter". He shows a lot of his work modeling through sketches and photographs. Like the picture below, what he did in 2014 using the iPhone 6s camera and selfie stick. First a photo of a monument is taken from various angles for 15 minutes. Of the 60 photos that Prof. Kondo Grab produced a model in just a short time using a program. Apart from this, there is also a Sketch Interpretter System which is very useful for designers to visualize their work in 3D.
The keynote session was closed with a group photo and an event with the signing of the MOU as an official sign of ISTTS joining EIConCIT which was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of ISTTS with several partners from the East Indonesia Consortium, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uril Bahruddin as Deputy Chancellor 4 of the State Islamic University, Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Assoc. Prof. Haviluddin, PhD from Mulawarman University, Assoc. Prof. Aji Prasetya Wibawa, PhD from Malang State University. After a break of nearly 2 hours, the event returned with a presentation session from the author of the paper received online through Zoom.
On the second day, a talk show with a keynote session from Assoc. Prof. Leonel Hernandez from Corporación Universitaria Reformada moderated by Ir. Edwin Pramana, M.App.Sc., Ph.D. The topics brought up were related to SDN. The last keynote session of the EIConCIT seminar was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Endang Setyati, MT from the Surabaya Institute of Integrated Science and Technology with topics related to Indonesian Language Viseme. The event with a presentation session from the author of the paper received online through Zoom. After the seminar was finished, the event was closed by a few words from Dr. Joan Santoso, S.Kom., M.Kom as a representative from ISTTS, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Haviluddin, IPM, PhD as a representative from the East Indonesia Consortium, Assoc Prof. Aji Prasetya Wibawa, PhD and Dr.Ir. Fachrul Kurniawan, ST, M.MT., IPM. As host of the 4th EICONCIT 2022.
