On Thursday, November 24 2022, the entire academic community of the Surabaya Integrated Science and Technology Institute (ISTTS) attended the top event for every student, namely graduation. This time, ISTTS is holding the 39th graduation for masters, bachelors, and associate degrees. This event was held at The Westin, Surabaya with a total of 223 graduates. Of the 223 graduates, 30 people came from the Masters program, 189 people came from the Bachelor program, and 4 people came from the D3 program.
The graduation ceremony began with a photo of the department which was then followed by an opening. In the speech session by the chancellor of ISTTS, namely Ir. Arya Tandy Hermawan, M.T., he conveyed some information regarding the development of the ISTTS campus in the last 1 year. ISTTS students have won academic competitions, both at the university and national levels. He also said that ISTTS is working with the Ministry of Education and Culture in the independent campus program, in which he hopes that ISTTS graduates will find it easier to find work.
Dr. Ir. Gunawan, M.Kom, as the vice chancellor for academics, read out the decree on awarding degrees to the graduates which was then followed by a session that the graduates and their parents had been waiting for, namely the awarding of diplomas.
Furthermore, the event continued with a video screening session "Stories of Graduates" to remember the college days which were not only ups and downs, but also downs. “Graduation Stories” reminded the graduates that they had experienced difficult times, but they managed to get through them. The video seems to encourage graduates not to give up easily when they encounter obstacles because success comes from many experiences, both joy and sorrow.
After the event, the graduates came out to line up for the photo booth, either alone or with their loved ones. Overall, the event took place in an orderly, lively, and quite memorable way. Congratulations to the graduates! Hopefully whatever will be done after graduation can run smoothly and make the name ISTTS proud.
