Facebook Boss Shares How To Make Money on Instagram

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed a new feature of Instagram to help creators or influencers make money through uploaded content. Instagram will help match brand owners with content creators that fit the audience or market they are trying to reach.

The head of Facebook's video and image department, Adam Mosseri, said that many social media content creators have been paid to post sponsored content. Through this new feature, Instagram has a role to be more involved in helping find content creators through platforms like this marketplace.

"We can help brands find content creators who are uniquely aligned with the work they are trying to do and vice versa," Mosseri said during a live broadcast on Instagram.

This feature comes as Facebook adapts to the latest changes in the iOS ecosystem, which will likely make it harder for social media companies to target ads to iPhone and iPad users.

According to Techstory, Apple recently released the latest iOS 14.5 update which includes tighter privacy settings for social media companies to track and target ads to their users.

With more advertisers in its app, Facebook can more effectively deliver personalized ads to users and demonstrate the effectiveness of advertisements to advertisers.

Zuckerberg also announced that he will launch a creator shop that will allow creators to sell items to Instagram users directly through their respective Instagram profiles.

Last year the company introduced a marketplace on Facebook and on Instagram, as part of an effort to bring the commerce ecosystem directly to Facebook's services.

Some well-known content creators, like Kim Kardashian, already have shops on their Instagram profiles. The creator store will allow more creators to sell via Instagram.

"It (Stores) was very important in the last year. Many physical stores had to close during the lockdown, but online remains open," Zuckerberg said.

That's how to make money on Instagram, which is slowly being updated by the two well-known social media, namely Facebook and Instagram.
