DENPASAR - Kristen Gray's tweet inviting people to come to Bali when the pandemic finally resulted in the deportation of the woman from the USA. The decision was taken by the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights after conducting an investigation, Tuesday (19/1/2021).
"American citizens on behalf of Kristen Antoinette Gray are subject to Immigration Administrative Measures in the form of deportation as stated in Article 75 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 letter F of Law Number 6 Year 2011 concerning Immigration," said Head of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Jamaruly Manihuruk. at his press conference.
He said, the tweet of @kristentootie inviting foreigners to move to Bali during the COVID-19 pandemic contradicts the Circular of the Head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 2 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocols during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
"As well as the Circular of the Director General of Immigration Number IMI-0103.GR.01.01 of 2021 concerning the Temporary Restriction of the Entry of Foreigners to Indonesian Territories during the COVID-19 Pandemic," he added. Immigration officers have asked him for information related to his act.
As previously reported, the word Bali trended on social media twitter on Sunday (17/1). The trending in Bali was apparently triggered by a tweet from the owner of the @kristentootie twitter account. The tweet that became trending, Gray admitted that he was very comfortable living in Bali and has been on the Island of the Gods for one year.
