Introduction to Amazon Alexa Skill Workshop and AWS Jam Cloud Computing Technology Competition

The AWS Academy event will be held again on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 13.00 WIB - finished. The event, which took place at the ISTTS Surabaya campus, invited great speakers to fill the Introduction to Amazon Alexa Skill Workshop & AWS Jam Cloud Computing Technology Competition organized by the AWS Academy community. This is the umpteenth time that this event has been held at ISTTS with Mr. Furin Ongko, one of the Technical Program Managers of the Amazon Web Series.

Mr. Furin Ongko explained that AWS is a community that provides a highly reliable, scalable and low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that supports millions of businesses in more than 240 countries around the world. What are the advantages of moving to the cloud? First, the agility of the team's elasticity cost savings. Second, it can innovate quickly and often only pays when it's going to be used. Third, take advantage of economies of scale. Fourth, it is easy to scale up or down with business needs that focus on differentiating business, reliable, and secure global cloud infrastructure. One of the devices is AWS Alexa, a device that can be turned on and off via human voice by setting the device into an available program.

This event was held divided into 2 sessions, namely the first session of the Introduction to Amazon Alexa Skill Workshop material and the second session held the Aws Jam Cloud Computing Technology Competition. After the briefing of material delivered by Mr. Furin Ongko regarding Amazon Alexa Skill and Cloud Computing Technology, participants who have registered for the competition via the AWS Jam registration link are divided into one group of three people. Also, the assessment of the group winners is based on the questions that are done by choosing the level of difficulty starting from easy, medium, and hard.

After successfully solving the questions given, with a duration of one hour and competition between groups, the following are the winners of the Aws Jam Cloud Computing Technology Competition; The first place was won by the KW_Super group, the second place went to the cloud9 group, the third place went to the qwerty group, the fourth place went to the underground.org group, and the fifth place went to the cakue group. Each winner is given a prize according to the competition category achieved and those who are not lucky will still be given a prize in the form of a t-shirt from AWS Academy. Then in the final session of the event, participants took a photo together with AWS Academy resource persons, namely Mr. Furin Ongko, as well as representatives of lecturers from ISTTS namely Mrs. Esther Irawati, Mr. Joan Santoso, Mr. Mikhael Setiawan, and Mr. Hansel Santoso.
Mr. Furin Ongko gave a message that, "This is just the basic beginning in solving a problem that exists in a network, keep on working, and innovate in keeping up with the development of this increasingly fast technology era."
